About Us
“Do all the good you can, By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can, In all the places you can,
At all the times you can To all the people you can
As long as ever you can!”– John Wesley
So, what exactly is a “United Methodist?”
The 11 million United Methodists speak many languages and live in many countries. And while we come in all sizes, shapes, colors, dispositions, outlooks and life stories, we share a unique history and faith perspective: the historic Christian faith.
From the beginning, John Wesley and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on Christian living—which is simply putting faith and love into action and opening hearts, doors and minds through active engagement with our world. This emphasis on what Wesley referred to as “practical divinity” has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today.
If you would like to learn more about the United Methodist church and its rich history, we encourage you to read more at the website of the United Methodist Church. Even better, set aside a Sunday morning to attend one of our worship services and ask questions. We always look forward to welcoming newcomers, especially if they ask a lot of questions!
