Servants
But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant.” – Matthew 20:26
Interested in becoming part of the worship team?
There are many ways you can participate!
You may not notice it while sitting in the congregation, but our beautiful worship services are the fruits of many laborers—both before and after the service. If you would like to be part of the team, there are many ways to get involved. Just decide how you would like to serve Jesus Christ as an ASUMC servant and email the appropriate team leader! Here are some of the areas where your help would be appreciated:
AV Techs: Help set up the sound system and manage audio and video during worship services.
Contact: Ed Murgitroyd
Greeters: Help set up our welcome table and greet folks with a warm, welcoming smile on their way into worship.
Contact: Corrie Walston
Lay Lectors, Liturgists & Communion Servers: You may become a Lector and read scripture, volunteer to be a liturgist and lead prayers, or help serve Communion during service.
Contact: Craig Maxa or Gerard Magno
Music Ministry: Help lead our congregation in worship by singing or playing an instrument.
Contact: Ray Newlin
Set-up & Breakdown: This team arrives early each week to unload materials and set up the gym… or stays late to put away chairs and repack the truck.
Contact: Pat Wall
Table Team: Help us prepare our worship space with paraments and banners, as well as prepare the elements for the sacraments of Holy Communion and Holy Baptism.
Contacts: Leslie Parkins or Rachel Hollowell
Ushers: In addition to helping with worship setup, ushers hand out bulletins, guide worshipers to seats, pass out offering plates, count attendees and help manage any emergency that may arise during worship.
Contact: Rob Bowerman
While you can always just offer to help any given Sunday, we would prefer you contact us beforehand. That way, we can arrange a rotational volunteer schedule and give everyone a chance to serve. Simply contact Beth Murgitroyd.
